If you have seen a robin nest after the young have fledged you may have noticed how clean it is. It is that clean because the parents continue to rid it of excrement during nest occupation. The young create fecal sacs which the parent will either eat or take away from the nest. Yes, this is kind of gross, but also an interesting fact. The following video shows both.
