Meet Mom & Dad

This is the female, Mom.

This is the male, Dad.

His head is darker than the female. I notice his crown feathers are usually up, as seen in this photo.

About the American Robin

A common and easily recognized North American bird, the American Robin is a relatively large songbird with a rounded body, long tail, gray upper parts, and rusty-orange breast and flanks. Males have darker heads than females.

Often seen as a sign of spring when they appear on lawns searching for earthworms, many robins actually remain year-round except in the far north. During winter, they often move to wooded areas to feed on berries.

They will often come back to the same yard to nest each year, preferring to build a new nest each clutch. They are very territorial.
